JEEVAN PRAMAAN

DID YOU KNOW?

1.      On 15 Aug 2014, Shri Narendra Modi announced from the ramparts of Red Fort the introduction of the JEEVAN PRAMAAN, which would eventually replace the Life Certificate.

2.      Detailed scrutiny of the Jeevan Pramaan reveals he usage of following terms:-

a.      Transaction ID.

b.      Pramaan ID.

c.       Aadhaar #.

3.      One was lead to believe that the Transaction ID is a Unique ID allotted to each registered member, but that is not the case. The truth is that the Transaction ID and Pramaan ID are one and the same used at different location of the certificate.

4.      The website for obtaining a copy of Jeevan Pramaan certificate is jeevanpramaan.gov.in. The Login procedure has two options:-

a.      Using Pramaan ID

b.      Using Aadhaar #.

5.      Using the Pramaan ID leads to printing the certificate related to that specific Pramaan ID whereas using the Aadhaar # allows the printing the MOST current / last Pramaan ID generated.

6.      Therefore it is pertinent to remember the Aadhaar # rather than the Transaction / Pramaan ID in addition to any Pramaan / Transaction ID for generating a new ID every year.

OROP : Calendar Year vs FY 2013-14

Ever since the Raksha Minister's Press Meet on sanction of OROP on 05 Sep 20015, there has been a lot of chatter on the net. If interpreted correctly there is no ambiguity.

My Take

• The period covered by Calendar Year 2013 is 01 Jan 03 to 31 Dec 14.
• The period covered by FY 2013-14 is 01 Apr 13 to 31 Mar 14.
• The overlapping period is 01 Apr 13 to 31 Dec 13.
• During the period the Key Date is 01 Jul 13 - Annual increment awarded to those in service.
• Promotion increment:-
• Calendar Year 2013.     If any one gets promoted from 01 Jan 13 to 30 Jun 13, the Grade Pay will be effective wef the date of promotion and the increment on promotion will be awarded on 01 Jul 13.
•  FY 2013-14.   If any one gets promoted on or after 02 Jul 2013, the Grade Pay will be awarded wef date of promotion and the promotion increment on 01 Jul 2014 only.

•  Hence it is seen that there is nothing to gain by insisting effective must be 31 Mar 14. In fact if viewed closely the Calendar Year 2013 is more beneficial:-
• Calendar Year 2013.     Promotion benefit over 06 months - 01 Jan - 30 Jun 13.
•  FY 2013-14.  Promotion increment benefit only 03 months - 01 apr - 30 Jun 13.
